Executive Activity Audit

1. Write down EVERYTHING you’re spending time on, scrape your calendar clean.

2. Rate everything you do along 3 dimensions: impact, time, expertise (does it need your expertise or can it be delegated / replaced?)

3. Isolate only the activities that are high impact - high expertise. -> High business impact that requires your expertise.

4. Filter those against time spend - the old juice squeeze trade-off.

5. You want to get to activities that are high impact, high expertise and high juice squeeze.

6. If you’re a CFO take this to your CEO + Operating Partner and get agreement that these are areas of focus for you.

7. Calendar that time in and make it sacred. Find a way to automate, eliminate or delegate the rest.

Your directs will be grateful for the development activities.

Your peers will marvel at your focus.

Underperforming executives get pulled into the fog of business.

Don’t be a foggy, inneffective executive ;)
